Mary Conley, 90, peacefully moved to her new home Wednesday, September 27, 2023. Those who know Jesus will see her again. She attended Young High School and graduated Knoxville Evening School. She was a member of City View Baptist church. She was blessed with musical talent and loved playing the piano which she was the main service piano musician for several churches throughout her life. She also played the accordion and even taught herself how to play the harmonica. She has rested and enjoyed the last 4 years sharing her daughters’ home. She was the oldest Canup daughter born to Benjamin and Minnie Canup. She is very special to all who knew her and her infectious laughter and sense of humor was such a joy. She met every challenge (and there have been many) with God’s strength and endurance and her strong recommendations for all holidays to be spent together helped her children remain close to one another. The family would like to extend a special "thanks" to UT Hospice for their care and love especially Lisa the nurse and Jane the CNA who called her mom. Also, a thank you to a very special caregiver, Sydney Ford, who for the last 2 years helped take care of her. We want to include thanks to the many prayers of the WOW women’s FP Bible study group. Prayer works people. The family plans to receive friends and viewing Mary at Mynatt Funeral Home Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm with a service to follow, Rev. Isaac Wood officiating. At a later date, the final resting place of her cremated remains will be Woodhaven Cemetery along with the other immediate family members who have gone on. She is survived by her oldest daughter Cheryl Conley Smith and one sister, Margaret Canup Wright; grandsons Benjamin Phillips (Jennifer), Brandon Conley (Jennifer), Mike and Charles Kitts; great grandsons, Cruz Brown (Fiance Ashley Boyd), Jay Bass (Fiance Katie) Alex and Gabe Conley; great granddaughters, Marley and Reese Phillips and Shawntice Conley; one daughter in law, Teresa Conley and many beloved nieces and nephews.
