Charlotte Wildsmith, 79, died on July 7, 2022, at North Knoxville Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born March 28, 1943, in Booneville, Mississippi, and graduated in 1961 from Booneville High School. She completed Draughon’s Business College in Memphis in 1963 and after years as a devoted homemaker, served as secretary of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Knoxville for 14 years. She was a member of Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 40 years, where she served for more than three decades as a member of the Kitchen Committee. She was also a longtime volunteer with the Knoxville Tourism and Sports Corporation and was a Lady Vols basketball season ticket holder for more than two decades.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 51 years, Robert Wildsmith; parents, Bobby and Beth Tidwell; brother, Robert Tidwell; and daughter Dawn Michelle Wildsmith. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Tessa Wildsmith of Maryville and son Mike Wildsmith of Knoxville; sister, Nancy Dobbins of Booneville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Dana Wildsmith; brother-in-law, David Wildsmith; grandchildren, Ezra Wildsmith, Cullen Wildsmith, Mandolin Wildsmith, Taylor Voyles, Morgan Voyles and Josh Voyles; and great-grandchildren, Ady'n Hamler, Aaryn Hamler and Arianna Stratton.
Receiving of friends will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, 4131 E. Emory Road, Knoxville, TN 37938, with service to follow. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m., Wednesday, July 13, in the Garden of the Last Supper section of Oak Ridge Memorial Park, 1501 Bethel Valley Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830, for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service.
