Mary Ellen Cassady

Mary Ellen Cassady, age 82, of Knoxville, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023. She was a long-time member of Sharon Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and volunteered in the nursery for many years. Mary Ellen loved children, and was instrumental in the care and education of numerous children over the years. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Cassady, infant daughter, Candace and several siblings. She is survived by her son, Robert Cassady; daughter and son in law, Waona and Scott Frazier; grand puppies whom she adored, Cosmo, Jasmine and Iris; sisters, Charlotte Sartin, Darla (Lee) Barker, Tom (Deloris) Martin and Steve (Susie) Martin. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Sharon Baptist Church with funeral service to follow. Reverend Mark McCoig and Dr. Jim Robertson officiating.
