Martha Ann Thompson

Martha Ann Daniel Thompson, born August 21, 1926, of Corryton passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the age of 98. She was the oldest member of Clapps Chapel Methodist Church. She always put other people before herself, worked hard all her life raising her children and she enjoyed working in their yard. She retired from Robertshaw and was a member of the Goldwing Roads Rider’s Association, Chapter T. Roscoe and Martha traveled countless miles by motorcycle seeing 48 states. Martha was well known for her wonderful cooking and famous poundcakes. She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Roscoe Glenn Thompson; son, Dennis Glenn Thompson; parents, Orville and Carrie Daniel; brothers, infant Samuel, Kenneth and Phillip Daniel; sisters, Orpah Hopson and Bertha Underwood. She is survived by daughters, Linda Gray, Alice (Richard) Grady; grandchildren, Wendy (Kevin) Crawford, Jennifer (Scott) Booth, Mindy (Chris) Luttrell, Stephanie (Tony) Hurst; 7 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Clapps Chapel Methodist Church Building Fund.

A Call of Convenience will be Thursday December 12, 2024 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Mynatt Fountain City Chapel.

There will be a graveside service Friday, December 13, 2024 at Clapps Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery at 11:00am. Family and friends to arrive at 10:45am.
