Martha Blanton Marks Page, age 77 passed away at her home on 02/25/2025. She was a life-long resident of Fountain City and faithful member of Fountain City United Methodist Church.
Martha was born on Oak Park Drive and lived for the past 50 years one street over in her childhood “dream home” on Kesterwood. Martha attended Smithwood Elementary School and Central High School before she transferred and graduated from Columbia High School in Lake City, FL following the death of her mother. Martha graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry as a dental hygienist. During her university years, she met her beloved Kenton Page from Lake City, TN when he sat down in the only available chair in the cafeteria. The conversation that ensued lasted until her last breath.
Martha and Kenton settled back in Fountain City, raised their three children and were integral members of the community through their church, their children’s schools, sports and activities. Martha took up jogging in the 1970s and famously ran a mile the night before her son was born. Martha worked as a dental hygienist for 25 years at her brother Jimmy Marks’ practice and for Dr. Robert Sterling’s. Later, she worked by Kenton’s side at their pharmacy The Medicine Shoppe. She connected with patients and was always available to talk to elders who were lonely.
Martha loved children, flowers, butterflies, birds and cooking. She was always there to support friends, family and children with an open heart and mind.
In her later years, Martha loved to take drives with her husband, and people all over Fountain City saw Kenton driving her around in their orange Honda Element, especially as her health failed.
Having lost her own mother at 15, her family was the center point of her life. She was proud of the life that she built while living only a stone’s throw from the house where she was born. And though her life on Earth is now complete, she lives on through all those she loved and touched.
Martha is preceded in death by parents Jacob and Dorothy Rule Marks; grandmother, Mary Roberts Rule; brothers, Dr. James L. Marks, Sr., Dr. Robert E. Marks, and William L. Marks; sister, Mary Ann Marks nephews, Barry L. Marks and James L. Marks, Jr.
Survived by husband of 59 years, Kenton H. Page, Sr.; children Abby Page Tucker (Guy), Mary Kristin Page Comer (Tad), Kenton H. Page, Jr.; grandchildren, Grace Tucker, Walter Tucker, Olivia Gressett, Emma Norton, Nora Page and Liam Page; great grandchildren, Amelia Gressett, Arlo Gressett; sister Marilyn Marks Turner (Jeff); and her sister-in-law Rosalie Marks, who took Martha into her home after her mother’s death in 1962. Martha also will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, Ashley, Patty and many more for their care.
