Marian Ward Laurendine, 88, of Knoxville, formerly of Pineola, NC, began an exciting new journey on January 31, 2024.
She leaves behind laughter, wisdom, witty jokes, the perfect recipe for every occasion, the secret to a good cup of coffee, and an avid love for Vol football and basketball. She was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church in Halls. She was a loving and devoted wife of 57 years, a wonderful mother, and the perfect grandmother to two grandchildren.
Upon her death, she was reunited with her husband, Donald H. Laurendine, Jr; her parents, Herman Dewey and Mae Gragg Ward; her sisters, Mary (Bernice) Baer (Jack), Doris Householder (James), Louise Perkins (Wesley); and her brothers, David and Gerald Ward, Rom Ward and wife Wanda, Milo Ward and wife Jackie, and Ed Ward.
She is survived by a daughter, Marti of Pensacola, FL; son Mark and wife Paula of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren Madison Rae (23) and William Keaton (20); brother Philip Ward and wife Barbara of Sweetwater, TN; sisters-in-law Betty Ward of Oak Ridge, TN, Betty Laurendine of Oak Ridge, TN; brother-in-law Louis (Butch) Laurendine of Lake City, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel from 11:00am until 1:00pm.
Family and friends will then meet at Oak Ridge Memorial Park for a 2:00pm graveside service with Reverend John Justice officiating.
