Mrs. Marlene Lou Williams, age 40, of Plainview, TN, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2020, in the comfort of her husband’s arms. She was born on October 25, 1979, in Starke, FL to James Howard Griffis and June Ann Griffis. She grew up in Bradford County and lived there her entire life until moving to Tennessee two years ago. She was a housewife and enjoyed her job as a “Domestic Goddess”. She loved to fish and be around the water. She also enjoyed traveling and camping but most importantly, she loved her family. She had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off her back for anyone. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend and will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Marvin and Cora Howard and her paternal grandparents, James and May Griffis; her nephew Bradley Howard; and cousin W.T. “Dub” LeMire.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Jamie Wayne Williams of Plainview, TN; her children, Cecilia Ann, Ma’Lena Lynn, Kathrine Annette, and Lizzy Mae Griffis-Williams all of Plainview, TN; her parents, James “Jimmy” and June Griffis of Hawthorne, FL; her sisters, Marquita (Dale) Bridewell of Keystone Heights, FL, Charlene (Jesse) Adams of Keystone Heights, FL, and Mandy (Chris) Adkins of Lawtey, FL; her father and mother-in-law, Wayne and Margaret Williams of Raiford, FL; her sister-in-law, Chana (Robert) Sharpe of Raiford, FL; grandmother-in-law, Geraldine Anderson of Raiford, FL; she had 8 nieces and nephews and 1 great-nephew; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
A funeral service to honor Marlene’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 29, at 11:00 AM at the New River New Congregational Methodist Church. A visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, July 28, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Archer Funeral Home in Lake Butler. Services will be officiated by Bro. Randall Griffis, Sr., Bro. Neil Griffis, Bro. Jimmy Scott, and Bro. Phil Babelay.
