Mrs. Marjorie Lucille Goforth, age 90, of Knoxville, Tennessee, went to be with Jesus on Monday evening, July 8, 2019, at her residence. She was surrounded on earth with the love of family, and she was immediately greeted in heaven with the love of family. Lucille was born August 10, 1928, in Knox County, Tennessee, eldest daughter of the late Layman and Ina Helton. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 55 years, William Goforth; five sons, Arnold Goforth, Curtis Goforth, Richard Goforth, William Blakely, and Earnest Adams; one sister, Nova Dills; three brothers, Albert Helton, David Helton and Wendell Helton; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Lucille is survived by her children; Sandi Gail Goforth Snyder, Brenda Blakely, Dennis (Sandra) Goforth, Sandi (Ray) Goforth, Beulah Adams, Tim (Tracy) Goforth, and Nancy (Steve) Ray; brothers, Don (Dot) Helton and Sam (Betty) Helton; sisters, Norma Jean Helton, Connie Helton and Peggy Helton; 30 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will all sadly miss her. Mom to many; Mamaw to many; Grandma to many; Lucy to many … regardless of exactly how you addressed her … you knew beyond a doubt that she was listening attentively. She loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She had a servant’s heart and taught us all the meaning of unconditional love. She enjoyed writing, and she was a gifted writer. She spent countless hours on her knees in prayer for her family and friends, for which we are all thankful. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family. She is to be praised as a true Proverbs 31 woman. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Zion’s Chapel, Louisville, Tennessee, with Reverend Scott Adams officiating.
