Marjorie Ann King Sliger (Margie), age 83, passed away Wednesday September 30, 2015 at Raintree Terrace Assisted Living. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Knoxville for 64 years, where she was a regular member of the Ruth Sunday school class and W.M.U. activities. She always looked forward to helping with serving of the meals before Wednesday night services at her church. She and husband Lowell retired from the University of Tennessee and were loyal UT fans. She had a great love for all animals, especially her cat Tipper. Margie was well known for her outstanding cooking talent and over the years delighted many a family member and friend with her homemade delicious pies, cakes, and cookies. Preceded in death by her husband Lowell Cutts Sliger (Bucky) and parents Mildred Rausin King and William Terry King. Survived by brother Charles (Chuck) King; sister and brother-in-law Susie and Joe Treis; brother-in-law Ira T. Sliger; sister-in-law Christine Acuff; numerous nieces and nephews; special niece Joy Treis Whitt; special nephew Billy Treis, and a host of friends. Family and friends will meet 10:45am Monday at Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2301 Adair Dr. Knoxville, TN 37918, for an 11am graveside service, with Dr. Tom Ogburn and Rev. Dave Ward officiating.
