Marion Allan Rusch

September 21, 1939 — September 21, 2022

Marion Clemons Allan Rusch, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away Sept. 21, 2022, in Knoxville. It was on her 83rd birthday. She was born in Mississippi to Harvey and Ottis Graves and grew up primarily in Winter Haven, Florida. She moved to Knoxville in 1985 after raising her family of four in Morristown, TN. Many in Knoxville will remember her as “the voice of Moxley Carmichael” because she served as a receptionist for the downtown public relations firm for more than 10 years until her retirement in 2010. She was a beautiful soul with an outgoing and lively personality. One of her favorite sayings was, “Sweet love, I’m just going to live while I’m alive.” And that she did! She was the embodiment of love and those who were a part of her life were certainly blessed. Marion touched the lives of so many people, all of which will greatly miss her. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Bartley (Powell, TN); grandchildren Talitha Milos Clemons Sampaio (Brasilia, Brazil), Jonathan Clemons (Knoxville, TN), Kat Clemons Newman (Farmington, NM), Brittany Bartley Simpson (Nashville, TN), Cayla Dean (Knoxville, TN), David Bartley (Nashville, TN), Matthew Bartley (Washington, DC), and Sandra Clemons (Knoxville, TN); great grandchildren Leo Clemons Sampaio and Pedro Clemons Sampaio (Brasilia, Brazil), Evie Rose Clemons (Knoxville, TN), and Landon Clemons (Knoxville, TN); and sister Wilda Edwards (Deland, FL). She was preceded in death by former husband Wade Clemons, and by husbands Y. Jay Allan and Frank Rusch; children Robert (Bobby) Clemons, Bryan Clemons, and Scott Clemons; parents Harvey and Ottis Graves; and siblings William (Bill) Graves, Whitten Graves, and Kay Hancock. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the caring staff at Windsor Ridge Assisted Living for the loving care they provided for the past several years. Also, special appreciation to the staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice. The family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home – Halls Chapel on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
