Marie "Tookie" Qualls

Marie “Tookie” Qualls, age 92, of Maynardville, TN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 26, 2017. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She loved her family, her home and traveling. She loved spending time with family and enjoyed her weekly exercise class with her dear friends Virginia and Mary. Her church family meant the world to her and she enjoyed life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James Howard Qualls, Sr.; and parents, William and Maudie Jane Henderlight. She is survived by children, Sandra Simpson, and husband Herky, Jimmy Qualls, and wife Diane, Susan Kessler, and husband Bobby; grandchildren, Jill Kaiser, Phillip Simpson, Eric Griffith, Amy Griffith Carroll, Jamie Qualls, Matthew Qualls, Daniel Qualls; great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Adrian, Ben, Olivia, Hailey and Max; sister Wanda Headrick, and husband Bill; and numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, with funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends will meet at 9:15 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. committal service on Friday, March 3, 2017 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Lyons View Pike.
