Marcella Williams Finch, age 92, of Knoxville, passed away May 8, 2020. She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence at Windsor Garden Assisted Living. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend of all whose lives she touched. Marcella was born in 1928 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to William & Goldie Williams. During World War II she met her husband, Frank, who was serving in the US Army. They were married in Hattisburg, Mississippi in 1945 and resided in Panama City, Florida until Frank went to work in Oak Ridge, TN with the Atomic Energy Commission. They lived in Oak Ridge until Frank retired, then moving to Florida where they resided until Frank’s death in 1997. Marcella then moved to a home in Knoxville near her daughter, living there until she moved to Windsor Garden Assisted Living. Marcella lived a full and happy life. She was raised in the Methodist Church where she was active all her life. She was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church and a faithful member of the Christian Homebuilders Sunday School Class. Her life consisted of always doing good for others. She was very outgoing and made friends wherever she went. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and a volunteer at nursing homes in the Oak Ridge area. She often visited five nursing homes every Wednesday as well as visited shut-ins in the area. She loved her family dearly and instilled in her children and grandsons strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in their hearts. Marcella was preceded in death by devoted husband, Frank Finch, brothers, Franklin and Kenneth Williams, son, Jimmy Finch, and grandson, Matthew Moyers. Marcella was a devoted mother and leaves behind daughter, Christine Moyers and husband Bob, and was the proud grandmother of Bobby Moyers and wife Michelle, Jon Finch, and Jody Finch and wife Kim. The family would like to thank UT Hospice for the wonderful care and support that was given to her and the family. They will forever be grateful. Another special thanks to the management and staff at Windsor Garden Assisted Living. Their kindness and wonderful treatment and care of their loved one will not be forgotten.
