Marcelino G. Heredia, 94-year-old World War II Army Veteran of Knoxville, born January 31, 1927 in Malakoff, Texas, went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2022. Marcelino loved being with family, friends and meeting new people. His smile showed his joy for life itself. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Heredia; parents, Jose and Hilaria Heredia; siblings, Margarito Heredia, Vincent Heredia, Gilbert Heredia, and Pilar Heredia. He is survived by his son, Gilbert Heredia; daughters, Louise (Lulu) Heredia, Marcela (Victor) DiTola, Carole Heredia, and Susan Heredia; grandchildren, Anthony Heredia, Andres Heredia, Josette Heredia/Carmona, Celina Albin, Joseph Heredia, Victor DiTola II, Gabriel Heredia, and Abel Heredia; great grandchildren; Andres Heredia Jr, Justin Heredia, Alyssa Albin, Brantley Albin, Ava DiTola, Scahlett Heredia, and Mila DiTola; as well as many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00pm Friday, February 4, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Tim Sullivan officiating. The family will have a private viewing from 4:30pm to 5:00pm Friday, February 4, 2022 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel followed by a public visitation from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
