Manfred Cecil Dodson

Manfred C. (Fred) Dodson - age 77, of Halls Crossroads passed away January 1, 2014 surrounded by loving family. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Fred retired from Western Union after 30 years of service and was the owner of Dodson Construction Co. Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Adra Dodson; his brother Petro Dodson; and sister Ruby Dodson. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Catherine Hubbs Dodson; sister Poppy Nichols; son Fred Dodson and wife Kim; grandchildren, Nick Dodson and wife Amie, Lauren Dodson Cheatham and husband Bo; great-grandchildren, Katie Ann Dodson, Layla, Katie, and Cody Cheatham; sisters-in-law, Wanda Massingale, and Ruth Lusk; brother-in-law Clyde Hubbs and wife Judy; many nieces and nephews. Special friends, Tom and Leta Cruthirds and Earl and Peggy Hagler. The family would like to give special thanks to the staffs of The Courtyards Senior Living and Tennova Residential Hospice of Halls for their loving care. In memory of Mr. Dodson donations may be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church Future Fund, 4328 E. Emory Rd. 37938. Family will receive friends 12 noon – 2:00 pm Saturday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Alto Dodson, Mike Hubbs, Ron Massingale, Ronnie McNutt, Ray Smyth, and Jack Waters. Dr. Alan Price and Dr. Charles Earl officiating. Eulogy will be read by Nick Dodson.
