Mabel Pearl Bruce

Bruce, Mabel – age 91 of Knoxville, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013. A faithful member of Temple Baptist Church in Powell since 1978. Preceded in death by husband, Ed Bruce, who was employed as a guard for 31 years at the Y-12 plant at Oak Ridge, TN. Also preceded in death by sisters and brothers (Mary Edith Smith, Margaret Stinnett, Lena Jones, Esther Cardwell, Addie Warren, Jacob Thomas Robinson, Sr., Herbert Robinson) and parents Temperence Louise Robinson and Archibald Sylvester Robinson. Survivors include son, Dr. W. David Bruce and wife Lucy of Columbus, MS and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel 6 to 8 PM Saturday with funeral service following at 8 PM in Mynatt’s Chapel, Dr. Clarence Sexton and Rev. David Rosser officiating. Family and friends will meet at Highland Memorial Cemetery 12:45 PM Sunday for an interment service at 1 PM. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class. As an alternative to flowers, the family requests that donations be given to missions outreach of Temple Baptist, Powell.
