Loyal D. Mathis

Loyal D. Mathis, age 89, of Knoxville, passed away, September 18, 2013, with her family by her side. She was a member of Bookwalter United Methodist Church. Loyal was talented gardener and cook and loved cooking for her family using all of the fresh vegetables. She is preceded in death by parents, Sam and Eva Davis, daughters, Patricia Zanco, Carol Mann, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Survived by daughter and son in law, Jeannie and Jimmy Rhodes, brothers, Frank Davis, Harold Davis, sister, Kate Ashe, 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and her best friend and cat Buddy Boy. Family and friends will meet, 11:45 a.m., Saturday, Greenwood Cemetery for a graveside service at 12:00 p.m., Rev. Don Ashe officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City.
