Lorene Allred Long

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith. Lorene Allred Long, our beloved Mom and Nanny, born on April 23, 1922, age 94, passed away on January 27, 2017. Lorene was the last living charter member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where she still was a member at the time of her passing. She loved her church and church family. She loved quilting with her sisters and taking care of her family until she became ill. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at NHC Health Care (Emerald Ave.) for their excellent care and for loving our mother and nanny as they went through this journey with us. Preceded in death by husband, Elmer Long; son, Dwight Long; twin sister, Irene Higginbotham; sisters, Reva Weaver, Trula Brewer, Mossie Elkins; and brothers, Roy Allred, Ted Allred. Lorene is survived by daughters, Charlotte Landreth, Powell, TN, Connie Harmon (Jerry) Powell, TN, daughter-in-law, Gail Long, Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Tim Snoderly (Joan), Ginger Sills, Jeff Snoderly, Roger Long (Heather), Ty Harmon (Annessia), Tiffany Monger (Kris); great grandchildren, Eric Snoderly (Alley), Hunter Snoderly (Bailey), Morgan Sills, Laini Snoderly, Bryson Snoderly, Michael Mathis, Micah Bradley, Mila Harmon, Corbin Monger; great-great grandchildren, Skylar Snoderly, Logan Snoderly, Colton Snoderly, Lincoln Little; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideons. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow, Rev. Tom Akin officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45 pm Tuesday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Hickory Valley Road for 2:00 pm interment.
