Lon Houston Spires

Lon “Lonny” Houston Spires, age 68, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, December 6th, 2017. He was retired from Cedar Bluff Elementary School. Lonny was a, kind, good-natured soul and loved to cut up with people. He was preceded in death by wife of 30 years Judy Lamons Spires, parents Lon and Ruth Braun Spires, siblings Mary Sigman, Bruce and Warren Spires. He is survived by children Leon Spires and Julie Lee, and husband Randy, granddaughter Tori Lee, siblings Billy Spires, and wife Karen, Robert Spires, and wife Sandy, Regina Haun, and husband Leon, Jimmie Ruth Williams, and Elaine Long, several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to say Thank You to the Smoky Mountain Hospice Staff, especially Sissy, for their love, compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to: Smoky Mountain Hospice. A private service will be held at a later date. Chaplain Kim Robinson will be officiating.
