Lisa Michell Capps Vito, born and raised in Fountain City, passed away unexpectedly due to health complications Sunday, August 21, 2016. Lisa was a well respected plant pathologist at the University of Tennessee where she worked as a research assistant for over 16 years. Lisa was a teacher, care giver, and a support system to all that knew her using her kindness and wisdom. When talking with Lisa, every conversation ended with laughter. Her quick wit was unprecedented and always welcome. Lisa loved her husband of over 14 years, Fred. They enjoyed travel, gardening, festivals, good food, and their five rescue kitties. Lisa burned far too bright for this world and it was a much better place with her in it. Lisa is survived by her husband Fred Vito, son Daniel Bell, sister Judy Dunkle, as well as several special friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you help rescue an animal in need with a donation to Young-Williams Animal Shelter. A receiving of friends will be held 5-7 pm Friday, August 26 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
