Lillian Huling Thomas, 93, of Corryton, TN, passed into the arms of Jesus on December 15, 2021. Affectionately called “Lila”, she will be remembered most as a devoted wife and mother, but also as someone who made others feel loved and special. Lila grew up in Wartburg, TN, and enjoyed playing high school basketball with her sister Juanita. They would later play basketball at Knoxville Business College. While in Knoxville, Lila met and fell in love with a handsome fella Matthew (Mack) Thomas. Together they had a loving marriage for 67 years. Lila was a faithful, charter member of Emory Valley Baptist Church. Lila was preceded in death by: parents Dr. A.M. & Georgia Huling; brothers A.M. (Betty) and Walter (Mary Jo) Huling; sisters Lorraine (Edwin) Heidel, Eloise (Cornell) Burnett and Willie Mae Huling; and brother-in-law Tom Biddle, Sr. Lila is survived by her loving husband, Matthew (Mack) Thomas; son, Ted (Linda) Thomas, and daughter Linda (Allan) Taylor; grandchildren, Kelly (Ben) Webb, Angie (Robb) Seahorn, Jacob Taylor, Heather (Josh) West, Shannon Forbs, Nathaniel Thomas, and Matt (Brittney) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Braden and Ainsley Webb, Cooper Seahorn, Mackenzie and Adam West, Isaiah and Braylon Forbs, Madison and Blakely Thomas; sister, Juanita Biddle; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. A receiving of friends will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021 4:00-6:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel 4131 E Emory Road, Knoxville, TN, 37938 with the funeral service immediately following at 6:00 pm. Family and friends will meet Monday, December 20, at Rutledge Pike Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery 10316 Rutledge Pike, Corryton, TN, 37721 for an 11:00 am graveside service.
