Liliana Alda Burroni Johnson, of Knoxville, affectionately known as “Nonna”, entered her heavenly home on December 11, 2013 at the age of 90, and she will be sadly missed by many who knew and loved her. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. “Nonna” was born on May 4, 1923 in LaSpezia, Italy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pietro and Olga Burroni of LaSpezia, Italy and her three sisters and brother. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Gregory McCloud and one great-grandson, Cruise Henry. She is survived by five children, Alberta (David) Dyer, Tommy (Regina) Johnson, Rebecca Zents, and Deborah Whetsell all of Knoxville and Barbara (Harry) Cordell of The Villages, Florida; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Beverly Park Place and Amedysis Hospice for the loving care she received. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow. Rev. John Holland will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Salem Baptist Church Building Fund. Family and friends will meet 10:00 am Saturday at the funeral home and proceed to Milan Baptist Church Cemetery, Maynardville for 11:00 am interment. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
