Letrice “Leck” Scruggs Crippen, age 98, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, November 19, 2022. She was born on Thursday, July 3, 1924 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Letrice married her high school sweetheart, Roy Crippen. They were married for 67 years and had two wonderful daughters. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She always put God and her family first. Some of her favorite things to do include entertaining her friends and family and cooking, especially around the holidays. “Leck” as she was known by most, was known for dressing up and wearing cute hats. Although she was very kind and loving, when you got the “look” you knew you had done something wrong.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Crippen; and daughter, Darlene Dagnan.
Those left behind to remember the precious and funny memories are her daughter, Connie Mitchell; and brother, Larry Scruggs; grandchildren, Cindy Lewis, Melissa Miller, Deanna Fagiana, Matt Dagnan, and Dustin Mitchell. She was always so proud of her six great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren and they gave her a reason to continue living for her family.
She will forever be remembered as a wonderful wife, homemaker, and mother. Grieving someone is the last stage of loving them.
A graveside service will be held 2:00PM on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at New Gray Cemetery, Rev. Ed Cloud officiating. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please send condolences to Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Online condolences can be left at WWW.Mynattfh.com
