Leo William Bean

Leo William Bean, born August 18, 1928, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 in Maryville. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where he was a deacon for 25 years. He served as a deacon for a total of 61 years. He joined the Navy at 16 and was on a destroyer during World War II. He was in the insurance industry for 38 years where he fostered many lasting relationships. After retiring from American General, due to his work ethic and his love for people, he worked for Enterprise until the age of 83. He is survived by Barbara Wilburn Bean, his wife of 72 years and sons Michael, wife, Kathryn and Gary, wife, Donna. He also leaves six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. The family is sincerely grateful to Hospice staff of Blount Memorial who provided unbelievably compassionate care. A private family graveside service will take place on Tuesday morning. The Family will receive Friends from 5:00-6:30pm at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Tuesday November 19, 2019 with a Funeral Service to follow Officiated by Dr. Alan Price.
