Lee Roy Jarvis “Him Gone” (as self-written by Lee Roy), born near New Tazewell, Tennessee on May 18, 1933 passed away the evening of December 15, 2015. Lee Roy Jarvis was the oldest son of James Leroy Jarvis and Zula Mae Large Jarvis and the oldest grandson of Cyrus and Elizabeth Large, New Tazewell. He was preceded in death by father, mother, and brother Hollis Mckinley. He was actively involved in the lives of his beloved niece Rebecca Jarvis Nutter, who provided immense loving care and assistance in the last few years; nephews James Gregory Jarvis and Joseph Gabriel Jarvis. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and 8 grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and numerous great-grand nephews and nieces. Lee Roy was an avid Vols Fan, he attended over 325 games including 289 consecutive home games from 1959 to 1996. In his early career with Western Auto, Lee Roy would travel hundreds of miles home in his convertible in order not to miss the Saturday game. Over the years he was employed in the Parts and Service Departments of several new car dealers in the Knoxville area. He retired from his long term job as Parts Manager for Rice Chrysler Plymouth. Funeral Service will be Saturday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel at 12:30pm. Family and friends will meet at Baldwin Duncan Cemetery at 2:15pm on Saturday for a 2:30pm Interment Service. Family will receive friends from 11-12:30pm on Saturday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
