Laura Fuson Martin, age 83, died December 12, 2020, and is preceded in death by parents, James and Effie Fuson, and brother, Joe Fuson, of South Carolina. Survived by J. Stanley Martin, her loving husband of 64 years, daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Bill Nichols, grandchildren, Emily and Will Nichols, and great granddaughter, Ellie. Laura leaves behind sisters, Carolyn Cope of Sevierville, Novella Phillips of Knoxville, and Flo Martin of Bristol, VA, as well as several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Laura was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City for 40 years and loved to sing in the choir. She was an active member of the Martha Sunday School class, who will serve as honorary pallbearers. Laura retired from Coal Creek Mining and Manufacturing after serving as the Secretary/Treasurer for many years. Laura loved to camp, including winter-long stays in Florida, and spend time with her family. During her lifetime, she traveled to 49 states and 16 foreign countries. The family would like to express their gratitude to the physicians and nursing staff of Tennova North Knoxville Medical Center for their compassionate care. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Central Baptist Church, Fountain City, with service to follow at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary. A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Officiating ministers will be Rev. Ron Mouser and Rev.
