L. Arnold Young

L. Arnold Young, age 88, of Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019. He retired from A & P Grocery and was a decorated Korean war veteran proudly serving in the Navy. Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jane Young. Survived by his children Doug Young (Jane Treece), Richard Young (Debbie), Denise Piper (Joe); granddaughter Jennifer Brooks (Steven); great grandchildren Adelaide, Sullivan and Vivienne Brooks; brothers David, Russell, Franklin, Stanley and Don Young; sisters Elizabeth Whiteside and Shirley Pressley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Arnold’s name can be made to Kerbela Shriners, 315 Mimosa Ave., Knoxville, TN 37920 or East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard, PO Box 22802, Knoxville, TN 37933. Family will receive friends 4-6pm Saturday Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with funeral service to follow, Rev. Mike Segers officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45pm Sunday Greenwood Cemetery for 2pm interment service, with full military honors provided by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
