Kenneth "Sonny" Walker Fersner

Kenneth Walker “Sonny” Fersner, 90, of Powell, TN, passed away January 18, 2025 with his loved ones surrounding him as he met his new found Savior (January 2, 2025) JESUS! He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Pearl Fersner, son, Mark Alan Fersner; grandson, Harry Walker Fersner, Jr.

Sonny was a Scout leader with Troop 154 at Powell Methodist Church, a baseball coach and fisherman extraordinaire! He started his plumbing business in the mid 1950’s and ran it for 50+ years along with his sons and grandsons. 

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 46 years, Gail; sons, Harry (Maria), Darryl (Jill), daughters, Cheryl Thomas and Marla (Shawn) Hines. He will be missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Hadley, Caylee, Nevaeh, Halen, Stephanie (Steven), Ayden, Emmett, Bailey, Lauren (Ben), Brayden, Daniel (Mayra), Dashel, Jody and Brent; brother, Harry H. Fersner; sister-in-law, Pam (Tom) Coleman; sister-in-law, Jayne Henson; father-in-law, Bill Henson, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Also mourning his passing is his toy poodle, Toby.

Special thank you to daughters, Cheryl and Marla, niece, Cam and sister-in-law Pam who helped with his care in the final months of his life, as well as Michael Burris and Mary Ellen Watson for the care they gave Sonny over the last few years.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel. Sonny will be laid to rest on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11:00 am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN 37849.
