Fletcher, Kathy Kile, age 57, of Knoxville/Halls formerly from Andersonville, TN went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 6, 2013, following a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Kathy was born on February 5, 1955 in Boyce, Louisiana and moved to Knoxville in 1989. She retired from Bellsouth/AT&T with 38 years of loyal service. Currently a member of Emory Valley Baptist Church in Halls, TN, she has always enjoyed and been active in church, teaching and singing in the choir. Kathy is preceded in death by her father and mother, Harold and Minnie Ola Kile of Boyce, and paternal grandparents, Frank and Laura Kile, and maternal grandparents, Hardy and Rosa Taylor. Kathy is survived by two wonderful sons, a beloved daughter-in-law, and two precious grandsons: her son Jason Fletcher married to Jodi Harmon Fletcher and children Lane and Clay of Heiskell, TN, and her son Josh Fletcher and his fiancé Jamie Brewer of Richmond, VA. Kathy is also survived by her brother Elton Kile, sister-in-law Sharon Kile, and niece Sarah Kile of Boyce, LA. She will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Of Kathy’s many loves in life, those that brought her most joy were her family, friends, and art. Cooking and opening her home to friends made many happy memories. She was also an active Telephone Pioneers of America volunteer and a hospice volunteer. Kathy’s message to those she has left behind is to rejoice in the grace of our Lord. “Don’t cry for me, but remember me fondly and look forward to our meeting in our real home. See you there!”
Family will receive friends and Mynatt Funeral Home in Halls on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 6-8 pm with a celebration of her life service at 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
