Kathleen S. Allen

It is in great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Kathleen Sampson Allen, age 73, of Knoxville, TN, returned to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 18, 2016. She was the wife of Johnny Allen. They shared 50 years together. Kathy loved her family with all her heart and looked forward to every moment spent with them. Good food, good fun, and good times. We take much comfort in the fact that Kathy loved God and knew that he would gently carry her into heaven. Kathy is survived by her husband Johnny and her son Ricky and wife Sheila Parsley; her daughters Carla and husband Richard Cross, Missy and husband Joe Fernandez; her grandchildren Kady Cross Maples and husband Daniel , Kristie Haynes, Kimberly Haynes, and Phillip Haynes, and Brandi and husband Jimmy Payne, and Rick Parsley; her great grandchild (precious) Kennedy Maples, Katarina Payne, Briceson and Paxton Parsley; sister-in-law’s Mary Sampson and Nora Foster, brother-in-law Jacky Allen, many nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents Vesta and Lester Sampson, brothers Lester (J.R.) and Gene Sampson, sister Judy Sampson Hurst, and son Glenn Grimes. Funeral services will be 7pm, Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, Rev. Cliff Roy Adkins will be officiating and music by his wife Robin Adkins who was like a daughter will sing. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery for an interment service at 11 am. Family will receive friends 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
