Katherine Kolter Smith

Katherine Kolter Smith, of Strawberry Plains, TN, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017. She was born in Knoxville and moved to Mobile, AL. in the 70’s, to follow her dreams. She owned and operated “Katie’s Health Food” at Tilman’s Corner and Spanish Fort, for 25 plus years. Her legacy of teaching healthy living and nutrition was shared with thousands, and is still active. She retired and returned to Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William C. Smith, 2 step sons, Bill Jr. & Ricky Smith, parents Louis and Mildred Kolter, brothers William, Robert, and Louis, and sister Mary Bell. Survived by her sons, David Lloyd Jones and Martin Kolter Jones (Marga); step children Angelena Nelson (Chuck), Opal Bowden (Charles), Jeff Smith (Mandy); granddaughter Rebecca Teixeira (Richard); great granddaughter Jessica Teixeira; and many other step grand children, nieces and nephews. Family and Friends will meet at 2:45pm for Graveside service at Lynnhurst Cemetery on Thursday Dec 7, 2017 at 3:00pm. Visitation is from 6-8pm on Wednesday Dec. 6, 2017 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
