June Henderlight Sumter

June Henderlight Sumter, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home on November 7, 2013. Born March 23, 1938 to the late Claude and Selma Spitzer Henderlight, she married Dean Sumter in 1958. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and playing golf with friends. Preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Tom Sumter. Survived by her loving husband, Dean; son, Mark Sumter and wife Michelle Harris; daughter, Lisa Sumter; sister, Patricia Strange and husband James; sisters-in-law, Mabel Holsenback and husband James, and Barbara Sumter; aunts, Alyce Pickens, Evelyn Drinnen and husband Bruce, Gerry McPhetridge and husband James as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank MaryLou Glandon for her love and care, UT Hospice and her neighbors at Shalimar Pointe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Baptist Church Building Fund or UT Hospice. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Saturday at Ft. Sumter Community Cemetery for 11:00 am graveside service and interment with Rev. John Holland officiating.
