Judith “Judy” Martirano (nee Mount), age 72 of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully on January 10th at Tennova North. Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Judy was the beloved daughter of Marie (nee Farro) & James Mount.
Judy was born and raised in Newark, NJ where she graduated from East Side H.S. in 1970. She later went to work at Hudson City Savings Bank in Westfield, NJ where she started as a bank teller and worked her way up to manager; she later transferred to the Union, NJ branch where she retired after over 20 years.
She was married to Frank Martirano, with whom she shared two children, Frank Martirano and Jessica Martirano, who were her greatest joy. Judy’s love and devotion extended to her five grandchildren, Nicholena, Adrianna, Anthony, Juliana & Frank Jr., and four great-grandchildren, Vonte, Elias, Eliana & KJ, all of whom brought her endless happiness.
Judy had a deep passion for genealogy, sewing & crafting, and was known for her feisty spirit, kindness & generosity. Her legacy of love, warmth, and strength will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Judy is survived by her husband, Frank; her two children, Frank Martirano & his wife Michelle and Jessica Martirano; her grandchildren, Nicholena Stombaugh & her husband Jacob, Adrianna Martirano, Anthony Martirano, Juliana Martirano and Frank Martirano Jr.; and her great-grandchildren, Vonte Martirano, Elias Stombaugh, Eliana Stombaugh and KJ Thornhill. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Mount (nee Farro); father, James Mount; and brother, James Mount of Newark, NJ.
A memorial service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held at a later date.
