Joyce Hope Carnes

Joyce Hope Carnes, age 86, of Knoxville, passed away August 5, 2016. She was a member of Norwood Baptist Church. Joyce was a spiritual woman with a kind and gentle soul. She was a precious mother, grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by husband, Wayne C. Carnes; parents, William Henry and Emma Lee Large; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by children, Steve (Jackie) Carnes, Shawna (David) Turner and Rick Carnes; grandchildren, Brandi (Scott), John, Josh (Kayla), Nicole, Brittany (Sean), Jonas and Jordan; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Harold; sisters, Wanda, Sybil (Bill) and Gwen; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to John and Kathy Strader, Dr. Ferris and the 3rd floor nursing staff of Tennova Turkey Creek. Funeral service 8PM Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, Rev. Phillip Murphy and Rick Carnes officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45AM Tuesday at New Gray Cemetery for 11AM interment. Family will receive friends 6-8PM Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
