Joyce Hale Henson, age 85 of Knoxville, passed from this world and into the light of Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 22, 2021 following a brief and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was solid in her faith and was a long time member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Joyce was such a lovely person, inside and out. Her radiant eyes and beautiful smile told everyone she met that she loved them. Her passions were her children, baking, her daytime soap operas and Hallmark movies. Many years were spent lovingly caring for her children, grandchildren, and others. Her ministry was baking cakes for anyone who needed encouraging – and it would most likely be chocolate. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Daisy Hale, and a daughter, Donna Henson Johnson. Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 66 years Ron Henson of Knoxville. Daughters Becky (Tony) Jornd of Sevierville and Lisa (Paul) Weedy of Dahlonega, Ga. Sons, Buddy (Tamara) Henson of Holly Springs, Ga, and Jeff (Angela) Henson of Knoxville. Sister Pamela Hale (Ron) Martin of Chattanooga. Grandchildren Christi Wampler, Aaron Watkins, Alison Watkins Moors, Baley Henson Hatmaker, Trey Henson, Hayden Henson. Great Grandchildren Simon and Declan Wampler, and Brayden and Lily Kay Moors. Special nieces Lindsay Martin Armstrong and Haley Martin Rahn. Special thanks to the staff at Northshore Heights Assisted Living for the excellent care they provided our mom, and continue to pray for dad. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 pm Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike in Knoxville for a 1:00pm graveside service.
