Joyce Crippen Day

Joyce Crippen Day fell asleep in the arms of Jesus surrounded by her loving family and her loyal fur babies at the age of 79. Joyce loved her family fiercely and said her greatest accomplishment was being a mother. She was a mother to everyone she met. She was such a blessing to so many. She is deeply loved by her two children! Her granddaughter, Keenlan Day, was the apple of her eye. She was married to her love, Wayne, for over 57 years. She was a member of Norwood Baptist Church and a graduate of Central High School. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, and she was a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley, whom she absolutely adored. She is preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Bernice Crippen, and her beloved brother, Chris Crippen. She is survived by her husband, B. Wayne Day; daughter, Brandi Day; son Jamie Day; granddaughter; Keenlan; brothers, Jay (Sandy) H. Crippen and Steve (Beverly) Crippen; sisters, Valerie French and Carolyn Tallent; brother-in-law, David Tallent; and nieces and nephews; Jason Crippen, Scott Tallent and Whitney Tallent Wilson, and Brittany French. Special thanks to Lina Sandefur for her precious friendship and companionship the last few months. An extra special thank you to her precious niece, Brittany Miller, for the exceptional loving care and knowledge for months, but especially the last few days. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. The graveside will be private. Pallbearers will be Jason Crippen, Scott Tallent, Travis Kitts, Stan Hackworth, William Wilson, and Kenny Searcy.
