Joyce Brooks Murphree

Murphree, Joyce Brooks, age 87, passed away July 26, 2012 at Tennova Physicians Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Baptist Church and had retired from Clinton Highway Kmart after 26 years of service. She was preceded in death by husband Woodrow (Woody) Murphree, daughter Kaye Searle, parents John Clyde Sr. and Pauline Brooks, brothers John C. Jr., Robert(Bob) and Charles Brooks. Survivors include daughter Carole Kirkpatrick, son Eddie (Cammie) Murphree, sister Brenda Sue Gordon, 4 grandchildren: Angela Heptinstall, Sally O’Higgins, Daniel Searle Jr. and Stacy Denton, 5 great-grandchildren, much loved nieces and nephews and special friend Barbara Chesney. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 pm Sunday at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for graveside services at 2 pm, Chaplin Dan Hix will be officiating. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Saturday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
