Joshua Ryan Penland

Joshua Ryan Penland age 29 passed away Thursday November 22, 2012. Joshua proudly served his country as a Corporal in the 9th Communication Battalion Service Company Engineers. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Corryton. He was a 2002 graduate of Gibbs High School. Joshua was preceded in death by grandfather Malcolm “Buddy” Ford (Poppy) whom he adored. Survived by parents Danny and Connie Penland, sister and brother-in-law Amber and Sammy Plont, grandmother Shirley Ford Hooks (Nana) and husband Ancil, grandparents Bruce and Betty Cronin, uncle Bobby Cronin, nephews, Chris, Noah, Zachary and Joey Plont, several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other family and friends. Joshua will be forever remembered by his second family his brothers in the Marine Corps whom he loved and spoke of often. Joshua will be sadly missed by us but never forgotten, love Mom and Dad. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund, Corryton. Service 7 pm Sunday at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Wright officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Monday at Fairview Cemetery for interment service at 11 am. Pallbearers will be Sammy Plont, Adam Vineyard, Will Ritter , Phillip Graves, Chris Pratt, John Layman and Mikel Starnes. Honorary pallbearers will be his Marine Corps Brothers. Family will receive friends 5 to 7 pm at Fairview Baptist Church, Corryton.
