Joseph Billie (Bill) Catlett, age 78 of Knoxville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, March 19, 2015. He was born on August 7, 1936 in Sevier County to Joe L. and Judy Catlett. Bill retired from Martin Marietta (Y-12 Plant) after 30 years of employment. He was presently owner and operator of J. B. Catlett Heating and Air. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Halls. He was also a Second Degree Mason as well as an active member of the Shriners. He and Barbara took pride in their farm and over the years had cattle, horses, and a large vegetable garden. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harlan Catlett; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Nell Blevins. Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Barbara and devoted children, Lisa (Danny) Goins, Jeff Catlett, and Kevin (Stephanie) Catlett; grandchildren, Eric and Grant Goins, Connor and Avery Catlett; sisters, Faye (John) Miller and Lori (Spencer) Shaffer; brother, Jimmy (Cynthia) Catlett; sister-in-law, Mozelle Catlett and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Howard Blum; several nieces and nephews; special family friend, Mark Gasteiger. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church Building Fund or your favorite charity. Family will receive friends 1:00 - 3:00 pm Sunday at Salem Baptist Church with funeral service to follow, Rev. John Holland officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
