John Spencer Schilling

John Spencer Schilling, age 74 passed away at home on Monday February 7, 2022. Born November 3, 1947 in Providence, Rhode Island to Chuck and Betty Schilling. The family moved to Oak Ridge, TN in 1948 and to Knoxville in 1954. John was a graduate of Central High School, Roane State Community College and the University of Tennessee. He was an Eagle Scout and a US Navy veteran. He was a former employee of the Knoxville Zoo. John enjoyed reading, history, current events, gardening, cooking, music, and playing with his cats. Preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Betty Schilling. Survived by siblings, Christina S. Newman of Sevierville, Catherine S. Holt, Martha S. Koho, Elizabeth S. Smith, Daniel R. Schilling, James P. Schilling all of Knoxville and Eric C. Schilling of Ocala, Florida. The family wishes to thank the staff of Northgate Towers, Knox County VA Clinic, and The Steps House for their kindness and support of our brother.
