John Rodney Kiser, age 57 of Knoxville, TN was surrounded by his loving family when he went home to be with the Lord and was healed on February 5, 2025. Rodney loved God and lived his life to show it. He was a devoted husband, daddy, grumps, and son. Everything he did was for his family. He worked hard, planned, and gave himself selflessly to take care of his family. He loved spending time with his family, taking family beach trips, loved his fur babies, loved history and learning new things. He would help anyone who asked. Rodney was the most amazing husband, daddy, and grumps! He was involved in everything his children did and helped everywhere he could from life lessons, sports, homework, and a plethora of advice. He was smart, honest, and straight forward, had such a dry sense of humor and the most infectious laugh. To really know him was to love him.
Rodney enjoyed every part of watching Jordann, Megann, and Jonathan grow into the adults they are today. There are no words to describe the love he had for them, Chace, Briella, Chris, and Taylor.
Rodney was a man of many talents and could do anything he set his mind on doing. His first occupation was autobody. He could take a totaled car and make it new again. He then joined the Navy and saw the world. After his honorable discharge, he went to college on the GI Bill. He earned his Bachelor's in Psychology, Master's in Education, and Educational Specialist Degree with a concentration in Administration. He spent 27 years teaching, mostly in fourth grade, and even while going through cancer treatments. He loved to teach and to watch his students learn and grow. He flipped homes with Neoma and was always remodeling and updating his own home. He spent many summers working in home construction with his friend, Michael, and loved every minute of it. He started a mowing business with Jonathan and cherished the time they spent working together. Rodney began martial arts as a young teenager, and it quickly became a big part of his life; he later earned his 6th degree blackbelt. He learned many styles and was doing MMA before it had a label. He loved to spar and fight. He taught his own children from the time they were tiny. He was an instructor, trainer, and coached fighters. He made many lifelong friends who he loved and respected.
Rodney was preceded in death by his Granny - Frieda Dixon, Dad - Robert Worsham, and father-in-law, Wesley Linkes.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Neoma, and their amazing children, Jordann (Chace) Scarbrough, Megann Kiser, Jonathan Kiser, sweet grand-daughter Briella, beloved mom, Carolyn Worsham and brother, Darin (Samantha) Worsham. He also leaves behind his mother-in-Law, Barbara Linkes, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and so many friends that he considered family.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion.
