John Davis

John Davis, age 78 of Knoxville, took the checkered flag of life as he crossed the finish line into heaven for his final victory on May 2, 2013. He was a member of Dante Baptist Church. Retired from Rohm Haas after 32 years of service. He was a life long racing enthusiast. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and one grandson. Survived by wife, Patsy Davis; children, John E. Davis and wife Carol, Chuck Davis, and Janet, Karen Walls and husband Mike, Sandra Estes and husband Rocky; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, with special mentioning of Mary Jane Davis, many friends from life, church, and local racers. Funeral service 8:00 pm Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. Phillip Murphy officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:30 Tuesday and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for 11:00 am interment. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
