John David Reitz

John David Reitz, of Morristown, passed away on November 11th, 2020 at the age of 75 after an eight year battle with Dementia. John is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Eleanor Reitz, and his brother Philip Reitz. John is survived by his loving wife Pam; son John (Erin) Reitz; his grandchildren Davis and Landry Reitz, and niece Erin Reitz Mitchell. John was born in New York, New York to Harry and Eleanor Reitz in March of 1945. He attended Morristown High School, exceling at football and track and earned an athletic scholarship to The University of Alabama. While at The University of Alabama, John was part of two national championship teams. John graduated in 1969 earning a BS in Education. John married Pamela Cribb, in 1969 and raised a son, John. He served in the US Army and after returning to Morristown, was a school teacher and coach at East Ridge Middle School and started a business, The Sports Shop, with his brother Philip. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and all things outdoors. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 6:00-7:00 pm with the Celebration of Life service at 7:00 pm officiated by Rev. Asa Majors at First United Methodist Church, 101 E 1st North St, Morristown, TN 37814. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
