John Allen Rhyne

John Allen Rhyne, age 83, of Powell, passed away at Physician’s Regional Medical Center on April 24, 2018. He was a founding member of The Church at Sterchi Hills. John retired from over 50 years of working in the transportation industry. In his spare time, he enjoyed all things outdoors, especially fishing and camping in the mountains. He loved being around people, especially his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Jean Smart Rhyne; parents, Jack and Edith Rhyne; brothers, Charles and Eddie Rhyne; and sister, Jessie Milligan. He is survived by daughter, Cindy (Gordon) Evans; son, John (Michele) Rhyne Jr.; grandchildren, Clint (Karen) Evans, Whitney (Duke) Truong, Abby Standifer, and Regan Rhyne; great grandsons, Chase Evans and Baby Truong due in August; brothers, Frank, Kenny, and Troy; and sister, Jackie; and several nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Angie Pena. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Church at Sterchi Hills. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am, Saturday, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for a graveside service at 11:00am, with Rev.
