John Alfred Kelly

Kelly, John Alfred, age 91, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the love of his life and wife of nearly 60 years, Mary Louise Kelly. He was a faithful member of Greenway Baptist Church where in past years he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and Bible teacher. He was a devoted Christian and an avid student of the word of God viewing it as a love letter from God himself. A Korean Veteran serving in the Mighty 3rd Division. He retired after 44 years from Smurfit- Stone Corp. He was preceded in death by beloved wife, Mary Louise Kelly, son Donald Eugene Kelly, father Thomas Floyd Kelly, mother Bertha Mae Kelly, brother Charles Kelly, and a wonderful mother-in-law, Vestal Whaley. He is survived by loving sons, Steven Louis (Kathy) Kelly and John William “Bill” (Laura) Kelly, grand-children Maxwell, Madison, and Jonathan (Elizabeth) Kelly, brother David Kelly of Jax, Florida, sisters Ruby Roberts of Morristown and Mary Meacham (Charlie) Jax, Florida. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Family and friends will meet 12:45pm Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 1:00pm graveside service, with full Military Honors.
