Rev. Joe L. Reed, Sr., age 65, of Knoxville, TN, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday August 6, 2013. He was Knoxville’s best street preacher of 34 years on Market Square Mall downtown and retired plumber. Preceded in death by parents, Joe Reed and Hattie Oliviau Reed; sisters, Juanita, Geneva, Betty and Jolene. He is survived by loving wife, Debbie Reed; children, Joe Reed, Jr. (Tina), Tim Reed (Renee), Angela Cardwell, Mendy Whetsell (Tim), Joanna Reed; brother, David Reed (Dianne); grandchildren, Kim, Emma, Abby, Jacob, Mathew, David, Brittany, Tim, Josh, Samantha, Missy; great-grandchild, Anna; sisters, Effie Reed, Wanda May, Linda Gail Reed; mother-in-law, Margaret Adams; sisters-in-law, Diane Worthington, Vicki Nicely and Connie Wolfenbarger; brother-in-law, Earl Joseph Adams and many nieces and nephews. Special friends, Bill Nicely, George Whetsell, Carl Reynolds, Jack Burnette, and John Daughtery. Funeral service 2pm Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, Rev. Dewayne Fortner officiating, then proceeding to Greenwood Cemetery for interment. Family will receive friends 6pm-8pm Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
