Our Dad, Joe C. Miller, Jr., 86 of Knoxville, on February 5, 2021 received an honorable discharge from the Earthly army of God and now serves along side his Savior among the multitude of angels, including his wife of 67 years, Janice Rutherford Miller, who preceded him in death on March 7, 2020. Joe was a faithful soldier of God. He served as Deacon at New Beverly Baptist Church for many years and was a founding member of both The Fellowship Singers and the New Fellowship Baptist Church. Most recently, Joe was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Knoxville and left behind many special friends there, including Pastor Zach and teacher David. Our Dad, “daddy”, was a Godly man and lived a life well-walked in Christ. Along with Mama, he was preceded in death by his birth parents, Joe C. Miller, Sr. and Katherine, as well as uncle and aunt, A. Esco Miller and Elizabeth (Izzy), who raised him as their own from a young age. Joe had an extensive family, both deceased and living, which includes aunts, uncles and siblings of whom he was fond. Surviving to soldier on in this Earthly march are: son Tony and wife Linda, daughter Darlene, daughter Lori and husband Ron Beer, and son Kevin and wife Suzanne. In addition, there are 8 surviving grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
