Joe Aaron Fortner

Joe Aaron Fortner, age 84, of Powell passed away April 8, 2016. He served in the US Navy for 4 years, was a faithful member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church and retired from Barclays Bank. Preceded in death by parents Millard and Lucy Fortner; sisters Mildred Fortner and Katherine High; brother Edward Fortner. Survived by wife Katherine Fortner; 2 daughters Teresa Ault and Lori Aszman and husband Jim; 4 granddaughters Jennifer Sims and husband Andy, Jaclyn St. John and husband Caleb, Morgan McNiell and husband Dan and Rachel Aszman; 1 grandson Jason Ault and wife Tabitha; great-grandson Landon Sims; sister Barbara Buchanan. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Western Heights Baptist Center, 1230 West Scott Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37921. The family will receive friends 4:30-6:30pm, Monday, at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life following, with Rev. Kent Williams officiating.
