JoAnn King McMillan fulfilled her earthly journey on April 30, 2021 at the age of 89 In Knoxville, TN.
Born to the late Allison Virgil King and Estella Thurman King on February 22, 1932. She would proudly tell you she was the oldest girl of 14 siblings.
As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many.
She was a lifelong member of Highland Baptist Church and professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of everyone that knew her.
JoAnn was faithfully married to Ralph Alexander McMillan for 70 years. They were blessed with 3
daughters.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Brother; Ed King (Peanut), Sisters; Evelyn Carpenter, Ila Finchum, Marlene Branch, and Linda Dockery.
She is survived by her Husband, Daughters; Vickie Tauxe, Kathy Harvey (Bill) and Angela Ellenburg (Greg). Grandchildren; Ashleigh Lawhorn, Jordan Tauxe, Chelsea Pantanzopoulos (Nikko) and Thaddeus Ellenburg. Sisters; Mary Horner (Ernie) and Francis Daugherty, (Paul) Brothers; C.R. (Bob) King, Jim King (Ann), A.V. King (Polly), Richard King (Nitaya) Danny King (Charlotte) and Hugh King (Cathy). She loved and was loved by many nieces and nephews. She adored and cherished the time spent with the great grandchildren; they brought a spark to her eyes.
The family will receive friends at Highland Baptist Church, 6014 Babelay Road, Knoxville, TN 37924, from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm on Thursday May 6, 2021with funeral services at 1:00 pm, Reverend Jerry Copeland officiating. Family and friends will proceed to Little Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 9132 Emory Road, Corryton, TN 37721, immediately following the service.
