Joan Warise

Joan Meador Warise, 86, went to her heavenly home on January 6, 2019, surrounded by her loving children. She was born in Old Hickory, TN to Mittie Carnell Lawhorn and Pleasant I. Meador on November 6, 1932. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and her beloved husband, Kenneth Arnold Warise, Sr., with whom she enjoyed 59 years of marriage. She will be greatly missed by her children, Kenneth (Ken) A. Warise, Jr. (Christa) of Advance, NC and Camille Watson (Brad) of Knoxville, TN. She was a wonderful Granny to Kyle Warise, Bryce Watson, and Mariah Watson, along with their spouses. Joan was a 1951 graduate of DuPont High School in Old Hickory, and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Old Hickory. She was an amazing provider of nurture and home life for her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a skilled cook and her recipes are still enjoyed by her family and friends. Joan was an expert seamstress, who also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. She was a strong woman, as evidenced by the way she dealt with Parkinson’s Disease over the past twenty years. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Christ United Methodist Church, 7535 Maynardville Pike, Knoxville, TN. The service will be officiated by Joan’s daughter-in-law, Rev. Christa Warise. The family will receive friends following the service. The family is deeply grateful for the care and companionship provided by the Windsor Gardens Assisted Living staff and residents during the past nine years.
