Stormer, Jo Shelby, age 78, went home to live with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 7, 2022. She was a caring and devoted wife and a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and friends to all who knew her. She was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school in the Beginners and Primary Classes for more than 20 years. She was retired from the Knox County Health Department with 26 years of state service in Public Health. She is preceded in death by parents Laura (Norris) Shelby and Roe Shelby, brother Ray Shelby, sisters Joyce Ann Shelby, Mildred Dalton, and Vivian Johnson and Betty Kear, grandparents Millie Jane (McFarland) Norris and Oscar Norris, Catherine and Milo Shelby. Survived by her High School sweetheart and husband of 58 years Elmer (Bill) Stormer, son and daughter-in-law Bryan and Melissa Stormer, daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Lionel Tharp, grandchildren, who were the love and joy of her life, Lance Mullins, Luke Mullins, and Lakin Mullins, step-grandchildren Jake Tharp and Jared Tharp, sister, Reba (Pete) McMahan, sister-in-law Virginia Shelby of Dandridge, TN, brother and sister-in-law Harold and Beulah Stormer, sister-in- law Peggy Pierce, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Monday, April 11, 2022, at Clear Springs Baptist Church with service to follow, Rev. Jerry Vittatoe officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:15pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Mynatt funeral Home Halls Chapel and proceed to Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 3:00pm graveside service, Rev. Justin Pratt officiating.
